"Once again getting an appointment is a difficult and unpleasant experience.
Having failed to get through on the phone in the past, I tried to book an appointment by email. I did receive a rather unhelpful txt saying "please book an appointment with a DR" which frankly was a waste of everyone's time and NHS money, as I already knew I wanted one. After waiting a week for a reply to me email I gave up waiting for a reply and called.
The lady who took my call, on reception apparently, was frosty to say the least. She could not have been less helpful if she had tried. Apparently she didn't have access to my email "on the front desk" which was said in a tone that suggested it was my fault for calling her when she was sitting at the wrong desk. She seemed offended when I didn't want to talk about why I wanted an appointment. Why would I want to talk about it to her when especially as she had already told me that she was sitting in a public reception and had already repeated my name and address out loud
My request for an appointment on a Monday (the only day I am not at work) was met with offers of a Friday or a Tuesday. Eventually a Monday slot was found over a month away.
With the appointment being so far in advance I have no confidence that the Dr will actually be in that day or wont have something else that they feel is more important to deal with. Time will tell."
