"went into the Amanda health centre for the 1st time in 5 years..very rarely do I need the centre but have been suffering from sciatica for about 5 months.Everything great at start, booked appointment,turned up early and saw a lovely doctor .After a brief few stretches and review she agreed that I needed pain killers to resolve my problem.I was prescribed co codamol and naproxenâs,which at the time she said there was a shortage of 500mg so gave me 250mg and to take double ...all great
Went out and went in to Lloyd pharmacy who said they were out of naproxen and to try Asda.Again went in and was told the same BUT they did have gamma naproxen which I was told is better for the somach.All I Needed was the doctor to change prescription and everything would be great...that is where it all went down hill.Came back into Centre and explained to receptionist what had happened and only just left the doctor a few before.Her answer was no one has naproxen at the moment and to book another appointment the following day or wait until end of day and maybe she would see me!! I asked why prescribe naproxen when both chemists and the receptionist new of the shortage ? I donât blame the doctor as she was a Locum doctor and obviously didnât know it was unavailable in this area.without the naproxen my prescription was a waste of time .I donât work in the whichchurch area so canât re book a appointment as and when, which did bother your receptionist.Now back to square one with shooting pains.Surely someone could of made the doctor aware of the shortage so the gamma version could be prescribed or quickly between patients get her to quickly change the prescription!!
I never ever complain but I feel your receptionist have a â jobs worthâ attitude and shouldnât be in that position without being able to use common sense
