"For the last 2 years every time I have tried to get an appointment by phone I have been unable. I have gone to the surgery in person and on at least 3 occasiosn could stil not get an appointment despite queing from 8.15am. Once I went to the treatment centre at St Marys who agreed I needed a prescription and triaged me forcing the surgery to see me. I have tried to use the online system - the second time I used it the whole system had been chnaged from waiting room to sytemonline and the surgery had not informed me. Each time I have used system on line I have been unable to get an appointment for 6 weeks , I have tried to use it again today and there are no appointments - all full until 8th February and no appointments after that. When I need a repeat prescription I still have to go through this frustrating process to get an appointment. My last appointment booked on line was canceled as the doctor was sick but no notification from the sytem or the surgery- the appointment was just removed and if I hadnt checked I would have turned up for the now non exsistent appointment. I work full time - also in a busy, stressfull and underesourced service and even if I could get through in the morning by phone I cant always take the appointment offered but have had to cancel meetinsg with clients in order to do so and if Im in court i cant cancel my committments. Other practices offer evening appointments"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
