"I have been with this surgery from the beginning of 2018. I found the stuff quite helpful and understanding before until last night when I had to deal with a certain receptionist who was rather irritated and argumentative.
I am receiving treatment for recurrent miscarriages (now pregnant again) and experienced quite sharp pains and been advised by my midwife to see a gp ASAP.
I have been booked in as an emergency appointment so took some time off work.
After waiting 30 minuets I asked the receptionist where I stand at as Iâll have to return to work. She started being very irritated and argumentative saying there is one hour waiting and stating how many people are in front of me.
Replying that I cannot wait that long she started having a go at me saying Iâm just wasting time and that if is so life threatening the urgency I should just sit down and donât take appointments I canât wait for and so on. Being humiliated in front of other patients made me quite distressed and upset also because she was talking like she knew why I was there or what is important for me or not.
Never been booked as emergency before but maybe they can inform parents that sometimes there is a long wait so they can make different arrangements."
