"Me and my family moved here almost a year ago and only once have been able to get an appointment, which was for our youngest daughter and only after practically begging them because she was hospitalised last year. Every time we ring we are told there are no appointments and to ring the day after. I rang every day at opening time for a week without getting an appointment and in the end asked them if there was any chance of ever getting one; with that the doctor rang me back. We have had to resort to using the same day health centre in Doncaster for routine appointments because we simply cannot get in to see the doctor or nurse at any time. They don't even ask on the phone what the appointment is regarding (twice it has been quite serious - but non emergent) before saying they don't have anything. We are a busy working family with two young children - we don't have the physical ability to ring every single morning hoping and praying that day is our lucky day for an appointment... Our old GP could book routine appointments a week in advance - I don't understand the Lakeside Practice's appointment system in the slightest. It's infuriating because they are the only doctor's local to us - if we had known they were this bad we probably wouldn't have even moved to this area. To make it worse, when my eldest daughter (3) was given a slot for her nasal flu spray - we got there on time and they had ran out - how does that even happen when THEY sent the letters out and requested we take her in for it.... Complete shambles of a practice."

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
