"Getting an appointment in the first place is difficult enough, I called 50 times in 15 minutes to get through for an appointment since most the time I get through and there are no appointments. Also with telephone appointments I have been told multiple times that the time allocated to telephone appointments the doctor is with patients and will call back leaving me waiting days for a call.
The doctor also disregarded what I had said and when challenged got defensive despite NICE guidelines backing up what I was asking for. Also there was an error with a medication (Not that doctors fault but another staff member) but when I asked for it to be corrected they once again got defensive and questioned me about what I was telling her. It took a longer than necessary phone call to get the right prescription sorted. I don't feel I can confidently go to that doctors and feel confident knowing I am getting the care I am asking for."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
