"my Partner, with this practice ordered a repeat prescription which is quite a difficult process in itself. This service is only operational during certain hours of the day so it is necessary to devote an hour to dialling non stop on the phone to get through.
As the chemist hadnât received the prescription, we went to the doctors to see if it was still there, or sent to a previous chemist, we had dealt with.
The receptionist confirmed that it had gone to the previous chemist and we arranged to go and collect it. No problems.
However we asked if we could confirm our preferred chemists name, a few streets away, nearer our home in Valletta Road. She was totally unhelpful and told us to go away and return when we had found out the name of the chemist. I asked her if she knew the name and she said no, come back. I started checking my phone online for the chemists name in village road and she miraculously came up with the name for us.
She was so unhelpful. The road outside is blocked off, itâs really difficult walking to the doctors, and then find unhelpful, unsupportive staff is unacceptable these days.
I asked if there was an easier alternative method of organising and collecting repeat prescriptions and was told no. I was told it was against the law to phone the chemist direct for a repeat prescription. I was also not informed about the arrangements that are in place to organise the prescriptions online.
