"I called up to try get an appointment fairly quickly in December as I was very worried about a problem, which is unlike me as I normally just leave things to sort themselves out but I was very concerned and the lady on the phone didn't seem to really care and offered one about 5 weeks away and said she couldn't help, so in the end I just said don't worry about it and have left it ever since, now I have seen the nurse she seemed quite worried herself and now I'm booked in with the GP which probably should of happened ages ago!
On another note, the receptionist never seem to answer the phone, I am a receptionist myself and am quite often the only one on reception and I make sure that the phone isn't just left ringing and ringing. I have called 5 times now and has just left it ringing for about 5 minutes each time.
One of they ladies on reception is really friendly.
On a good note, once you get an appointment the GP's and the Nurses are absolutely wonderful, not one thing bad to say about any of them! They do an amazing job."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
