"For over a week I have been irritated with a cough and over the weekend the cough got worse keeping me awake and then my throat began to hurt, my tonsils red and spotty (to which the doctor I saw said she couldnât see any spots, yet myself, my partner and my mum could see spots.) I have suffered from tonsillitis and Asthma in my past so I know how tonsillitis feels and I have felt the same since Saturday (now Thursday) still coughing up secretions of a yellow tinge and still congested and have a croaky voice, my tonsils also still feel Inflammed, probably from all the coughing!
Now I understand the NHS is strict when giving out anti biotics BUT when I had my appoitment on TUESDAY I was told by the doctor I saw that if I was still unwell with no progress the day after they would prescribe me anti biotics to which I had to call up for on Wednesday and to which I did. I was then told I would get a call back at 16:30 to which I didnât and today THURSDAY i am still unwell.
Said doctor also told me I had a ârespiratory infectionâ yet when I called Wednesday the receptionist was inpolite in telling me that it was only a virus on my notes. I have been taking painkillers etc for over a week with minimul change to my health so have to yet again ring up today to ask what the next step is because the anti biotics Iâve been told I could have, I clearly now cannot have.
Also, my mum has seen the same doctor for an issue of her own and this said doctor was GOOGLING the different types of anti biotics she could give my mum for her severe ear infection! Now surely new doctor or old this should have been known out of professionalism. Very unhappy with the service and has left what faith I had left for richmond hill down the drain.
I also understand this is not the whole practice but bad experiences more than once so not helps the practice as a whole."
