"Impossible to get appointments for appointment or for required tests in same week, usually at least two week delays, even if required by other nhs personnel (support nurse from another local facility). Receptionist downright rude when submitting samples and absolutely NO privacy - everything is audible to the patient queue and other patients in the waiting area. The pharmacist demanded to speak to a patient when was partner collecting repeat prescription and then just left him sitting there for over 20 minutes when he made a special visit to speak to him. We still have no understanding why !!
This surgery is too big and patients are treated as if they just do not matter but can be kept waiting on and on as if their time is of no importance unlike the gps who are spoken of as "gods".
Yesterday while waiting yet again for GP (appointments running late) I overheard the following two exchanges at the counter. One patient was given a 4 week wait for a routine blood test. The second (a very old lady who had been brought specially in by another old friend) was overheard complaining of a "my new pills giving me a funny feeling in my head" and was told no doctor available but she could "just sit down and wait but I've no idea how long it will be for you to see the emergency doctor to see you!""
