"I have been registered with this practice for 30+ years and have never known it to be this awful.
I have Parkinson's and need my meds in order to function.
On 13th Feb I submitted a repeat prescription request using the on-line facility. On the 27th I receive a SMS from Boots to say that my prescription is ready to collect. A day later I pick up a small bottle containing 28 capsules.
The label says that these are Modified Release. Now I did NOT request any M/R meds but did ask for 30 days supply of my main medication (which is almost 200 capsules) as well as 56 capsules of a supplemental medicine. The latter was struck out because I "still have too many" even though I had less than 28 days' supply and no-body has, so far, explained how or why my request was changed.
I deplore this attempt at micro-managing the consumption of pharmaceuticals in people with chronic conditions. It is intrusive and patronising, not to mention stressful always having to worry about whether I can afford to stay up late (a long day will require an extra dose). Revert to 56 days' supply and allow me the dignity of the day-to-day management of my condition please!
On the 26th Feb. I re-submitted the repeat prescription request. However, there is now a very real danger that I will RUN OUT of meds before this prescription is filled. That is assuming that this request is not also altered beyond all recognition.
Denial of medicine is a new low for the NHS."
