"I've been with the surgery since 1987 and have seen it grow from the ground floor of a house to what it is today. The original doctors Anne and Barbara are no longer there and sorely missed but my favourite one is still there. I have no problems with the treatment I've received over the years as it's been exemplary. My only problem was one time with the nurse when I had to have blood taken. She couldn't find a vein and kept asking if I wanted a drink. I told her no I was fine not realising until after that she wanted me to drink so my veins would expand (?!) and she could take blood. She then let a junior nurse try for my blood and the other nurse went out but the junior needed to talk to her and went out leaving the needle stuck in my arm! Anyway, after SEVEN attempts in both arms and the back of my hand, she said I could either go somewhere else, come again another day or carry on... I told her to see if it could be 8 times lucky and it was. But never again will she see me for my blood.... despite this, the surgery and doctors are excellent."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
