"Upon attempting to get a repeat prescription from Unity, I was told I would be given 14 days' worth to keep me going till an appointment and that I would be phoned to arrange the appointment. Upon hearing nothing, 13 days later, I emailed asking about the state of things to which the reply was that the earliest I can book on is the lot of appointments starting 21st, several days after my prescription ends, and I imagine the appointment will not be on the 21st but a later date.

As this is for anxiety, it will have a serious effect on my academic studies, ability to interact with others/leave the house and general everyday life.

After the prescription review etc is sorted I will most likely look into changing surgery, especially as I frequently hear complaints from other students about waiting times, being unable to get through by phone and that the surgery generally isn't up to scratch."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
