"I'm not sure if this is a problem with the NHS or this practise in particular. As soon as I walk in to see a doctor I get this uneasy feeling that all they want to do is get me back out of his or her office as soon as they can.
That being said, I really should have said her office because the surgery is now full of female doctors-nope, i'm not sexist, I just want to see a bloke occasionally, if that makes me a bad person then so be it, i'm a bad person.
I've had some ongoing issues for some time now and they were getting worse, all the doctors at this surgery had ran out of idea's and I finished up getting the impression that my usual GP was avoiding me. Don't get me wrong, they have conducted loads of testing but I always felt that with all the results nobody was looking at symptoms and results and joining up all the dots.Maybe this is due to the time constraints on them, I'm unsure whether these time constraints are real or perceived by the public as the surgery is bereft of doctors in the afternoon. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't working.
I finished up being so ill and getting nowhere I decided to go and see a private Doctor about 3 weeks ago. I'm unsure where this will lead but after following the private doctors instructions for 3 weeks I'm feeling considerably better, just wish i'd done it sooner.
If you go to see a doctor when you have a nail in your foot, they really should be pulling the nail out, not offering you a painkiller. I saw one doctor and started reeling off my symptoms, (as I'm sure there is only one thing wrong with me) only to be told that we only had 10 minutes. Sorry guys, that just doesn't cut it for me. That approach is indicative of symptom treaters and not doctors getting to the root cause of illnesses.
I saw a locum who was not only rude, but also dismissive of my symptoms to a point where I got the impression she thought I was lying."
