"I am suffering from polymyalgia and need regular blood tests which I usually go to Asda for with a form from you. You rang me and asked me to go for a blood test at the surgery which I did. The nurse who did the blood test didn't know that I had polymyalgia and didn't know what to test for. Consequently I have just had a letter from one of the doctors to tell me that I had not been tested for inflammation, consequently I now need another blood test which I now have the form for and will go to Asda. I was also told that I would have regular phone calls from another doctor. I haven't spoken to this doctor and don't even know if it's a man or a lady. I desperately need an operation on my left shoulder for a torn tendon and can't have the operation until my prednisolone is reduced to 7.5 mg and can't reduce them without a proper blood test. I hope you can understand my frustration and can do something to help me."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
