"I have been with the practice since about 1997 One GP is a lovely doctor who is very good and caring doctor but he is so popular it's hard to get an appointment with him even when I am really ill. I tried to see other doctors just to be told by the doctor that I should only see my doctor for they can't treat me. The prescription lady only starts work after 1:30pm so she only works only half days which is problematic when you have problems occurring with prescription request as no other staff have authority to help you. I always put my request in at least a week ahead so they have plenty of time to solve any problems that might occur with it. If you need a prescription I say book an appointment with doctor it's the only way you can guarantee no problems. I have also have had staff tell me that the website where you can request prescriptions is not reliable and they did not get my request even though the website said it went through. They don't ring back when they said they will and I have waited in all day for them. So sadly the Doctor is being let down by some of his support staff, not all as some go beyond to help you and are nice. Some staff are compassionate where others are extremely cold hearted they have made me cry. I would suggest that the practice hire someone who can work the morning shifts doing prescriptions and maybe better training for support staff as some of them have been so bad they have made me cry."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
