Mumâs long illness and decline caused her â and us â quite a few periods of stress and worry. There were times when this GP gave us support by visiting and phoning even when he was not at work. That connection was so important to us, it felt like a lifeline when no-one else was available.
I was very grateful, too, for the GP's presence and support when Mum died. It was, after months of expecting it, rather sudden and having him there helped so much."
