"Having been sent home from work I immediately rang to try to get an appointment with a doctor. It took 33 minutes of redialling and then on hold before I spoke to anyone. I was given an appointment very easily as t was obvious that I was not well. When I arrived for my appointment there was a queue of people, which moved very slowly. I went into my appointment on time (helped by the fact that I was 15 minutes early). On this occasion I was impressed with the level of service I received.
However, a week later when I needed another appointment as I was still not well it was a different story. It took me 16 minutes of redialling and being on hold to be told I could not have an appointment until the following day as I had not finished my medication at that point. The receptionist was verging on being rude. So I rang back the following day and waited another 18 minutes redialling and on hold to be asked if it was an emergency. I explained the situation and the receptionist did eventually give me an appointment. She was verging on rude in her manner. My appointment time was 11:10am and I did not see a doctor until 11:55am.
I am considering changing GP practice."
