"I joined AW surgeries quite recently and I have been very impressed by the whole experience right from my very first visit. The receptionists, nurses, the Doctors, everyone I've met at this surgery and who has had a part in my care so far has been exceptional. I have been treated in a kind, helpful, respectful and friendly manner. As an individual , as someone whose needs and concerns have really been listened to and taken into consideration. I have complex health issues, so I have regular visits and how I'm treated is very important to me. Having completely lost my confidence and my nerves after an unfortunately terrible experience at my previous surgery, I am extremely grateful to the Doctors and staff at AW surgeries for restoring my faith in good GP surgeries .
I have had no problems in contacting the surgery or in making appointments or in doing repeat prescriptions. The Dr/nurse have given me the time I needed during appointments and I have never felt rushed. They also made time for me when I needed an emergency visit too.
I have nothing but praise for the treatment I've received from this surgery and already recommended it to family and friends."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

General Practitioner

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
