"A week ago I started to develop tonsillitis and for anyone that has had it, knows how horrible and painful it is! So I was in the need of antibiotics as soon as poss. I call the surgery at 8am and after 24 attempts to get through, I ask for an emergency appointment to my horror I learnt this is not something the practice done?! What doctors surgery doesn’t do emergency appointments?!! They couldn’t book me in for 2 WEEKS! This is absolutely horrifying. I was then told by the lady on the phone I would need to call Orsett Minor Injuries as there is a doctor down there, but funnily enough the number for the Orsett Minor Injuries rings and rings for a few minutes then goes through to an automated system telling you their opening hours and then cuts off, I also tried this number stupidly nearly 50 times!! I then had no other choice but to ring 111 I was in excruciating pain nothing was taking the pain away and they were shocked that this surgery wouldn’t give me an appointment as they could hear how bad my throat were and how upset I was also. They advised that the surgery MUST provide me with an appointment due to duty of care to patients, I called back and do you think the lady at reception gave a care in the world? No all I got was “you need to keep trying Minor Injuries”, the lack of care from the surgery was shocking and disgusting.

I finally was seen at midnight at out of hours doctors and given the right antibiotics no thanks to these guys I had to wait a whole day to get any medication and even then I couldn’t pick my prescription up until the next day!

So a week on, these antibiotics haven’t done anything, the tonsillitis has flared up..again. I call the doctors surgery and ask for an appointment within the next few days to get a new set of antibiotics, and then I’m told I have to call again at 8am tomorrow morning to get a morning appointment when I called at 8:15 as I couldn’t get through that whole 15 minutes from 8am tried again nearly 50 times!!!!!! And it kept saying “user busy”! But when I called a week ago morning and emergency appointments didn’t exist so which one is it!?!?!?! They also have NO cancellation list you just have to call throughout the day!

2 years now I have returned to this surgery (I was there from a baby until I was 19) and never been disappointed until now. Safe to say I will be changing my doctors again, to somewhere that is professional and cares for their patients .

I am also filing a formal written complaint directly to the NHS.

Shame on you guys."
