"They seem to have too many patients than they can cope with. This of course may be a result of the NHS cuts and not the fault of the surgery. If you want an appointment you have to call at 8.30am the same day, you can't book in advance. When you call, be prepared to experience "line busy" and for it to cut off for upto 45 minutes. When you finally get through you'll enter a call que for another 40 minutes only to be rushed off the phone without any empathy with "there are no appointments left, try again tomorrow."
This is not an isolated incident it is every single time that I have called. At the time of writing this review I have been calling from 8.30am to 9.40am and haven't got through, just "line busy".
Also, at reception there is often a huge que, sometimes even going outside. In addition, the receptionists will ask what your health problem is about. This is to enable unqualified staff to assess the priority of your appointment for seeing the duty doctor.
As a result of the above but mainly with the the lack of empathy and how it is managed, I'm going to change practices.
Ps...if you need a letter to state that you were unwell to work, they charge £25."
