"Rang the surgery. Apparently you are not allow to ring up and ask for a prescription of regular repeat medication. Rather strange I thought. You have to tick your repeat on your last script. Makes sense if your medication is actually printed on the script yeah. If you don't have this you have to write a letter to request your medication.

Never heard of any surgery that doesn't accept a verbal request for repeat medication. Especially when you have had one particular medication for 4 years and one for a year. Never heard of been told to write a letter in all my life. My medicine requirements are on my file so I didn't quite understand this.

Really strange. The only reason I can think of as to why I need to write a letter to request a repeat is so that the receptionist doesn't get your request wrong. You will have to write a letter of request each month until they put you on repeat."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
