"Saw a GP today as I was at my absolute wits end with a 2 year struggle trying to get treatment for my very painful foot condition. (Plantar Fasciitis)
Mentally I am desperate. I have nowhere else to go. No one to help me and have broken down twice this week so far.

I have been in a lot of pain for over 2 years, (5 years in total) overcompensating with walking for so long now that my other foot has stress fractured. I can barely walk and have hit rock bottom. Tried to explain to the GP that I just wanted somemeone to take some responsibility for me, only to be told that they didn't think that I was speaking very nicely to them!!!
Who offers a side order of guilt as a health professional, when the person in front of you is clearly desperate!?

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
