"I attended an appointment last Monday (23/4) with my son â.
We attended the appointment with the doctor. He spoke directly to my son, he got down to his level (he is 4) so he could talk face to face with him and asked him about what was wrong, he explained to him what he was going to do, how it would feel and why he was doing it â totally putting him at ease. He was thorough in his explanations to me about what he thought it was, how it was caused, treatment options ect. Although I appreciate there are time pressures I didnât feel rushed, there was time for me to digest what was being said and he asked if I had questions and what to do if the treatment plan didnât work. The first thing my son said when we left was what a lovely doctor he was and I agreed.
He then rang me a week later to give me the swab test results, and again he was brilliant, talked me through the results, who has he had spoken to about the results, what we needed to do from here and what to do if the antibiotics donât work, again I felt like there was time for questions and that he was clear in explaining the situation.
I am aware that when things go wrong people are quick to complain but I suspect not so quick to pass on thanks when things go well. I was really pleased with the way we were dealt with and am grateful to the doctor for what he did, Thank you!"
