"I strongly recommend this doctors practise after my recent surgery. I had been struggling with abnormal right sided abdominal pain. After my surgery sending me straight to The Alex in September 2017 with suspected appendicitis, I was disappointed to be discharged after 5 nights with just a course of intravenous antibiotics. I struggled on with this same pain but with constant support from a number of GPâs who pushed for X-Rays, CT and MRI scans. Finally in January 2019 I had a planned surgery to remove my appendix which over time had adhered to my ovary and also gave trouble to my bowel.

If it wasnât for my surgeryâs Doctors keep asking for further investigations into my constant pain I would never have discovered a Primary Appendiceal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma. These do not often show well in diagnostic testing so I am eternally grateful for my surgery for the hours spent listening to me moaning on about ânothing seems to work for meâ.

I am now resting up and recovering nicely. Thank you Corbett Medical Practice for listening xx"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
