"I have been fortunate enough to have been registered with this surgery for several years now, as have some of my friends and family members. Of course I can only primarily speak to my own personal experiences as any other individual patient can, but I have also had some exposure to the healthcare sector through my academic and professional work in London, Milton Keynes and Manchester, and on that basis it's my view that the surgery team does work hard to provide exceptionally good care.
That's not to say there haven't been slight miscommunications once or twice on some minor issues or I've had to make very small compromises about which doctor I am able to see and when but, in all fairness, these or any other issues have been resolved speedily with a level of professionalism, attention-to-detail and simple courtesy which, unfortunately as many of us know, can be all too absent elsewhere.
The health condition I have at the moment means my medication needs to be reviewed from time to time and I can find no fault in this process so far. Additional emotional support has also been critical for me at this time and I've had no shortage of this, especially from the most senior practitioner who, in my opinion, is evidently highly qualified, a good leader and a true gentleman. The option of telephone consultations and flexible opening hours have been handy for me fitting any treatment around study and previous work commitments. I have needed to request important documents from the surgery on several occasions and there has almost always never been a problem with this. Under what I can only imagine to be quite challenging circumstances at times, the surgery team has always seemed to me to know what they're talking about, be respectful and receptive to fair and reasonable criticisms as well as, most importantly, actually taking action to improve.
Again, these are only my own personal views as one individual and 'ordinary' long-time patient with the surgery. I realise others with different or more severe needs and having had different experiences may reach different conclusions, which is obviously well within their rights to do and ultimately can be a good thing when improvements are then made that benefit standards of care for all of us. I also just think, more generally, all of us sometimes almost inevitably can be all too quick to complain and criticise but then not to also commend our hard-working doctors, nurses, carers, administrators and other staff when they do get things right and hopefully improve our health. Simply, credit where credit's due in this instance. So I'd like to thank the whole surgery team for the ongoing care I have been and am now receiving and only hope that these high standards that I have personally experienced can be maintained for every one of your patients in the future."
