"Gough Walk is a terrible practice, calling at 8am never helps, they never have any appointments. I fail to comprehend how a practice tells its patients to call at 8am but never has any appointments for that day, how does that work? How can one call on the day of booking appointments and there are NO AVAILABLE appointments for that day and the admin team cannot book for days in advance. Where are the appointments then? How does the booking system work? Failing practice, failing system, failing your patients.
One the rare few occasions that I have visited the practice the wait to be seen is endless, your appointment will be scheduled at 10am but you will be seen at 11.30am. Another farce which is not dealt with or addressed by anyone within the practice, some of us have work commitments that we cannot give up and sit leisurely waiting to be seen while we agonise over what is wrong with us.
Furthermore there is no provision for people who have a 9-5 job, they cannot be booked in for appointments in the evening as there are never any and any slots that they can be booked in to for the emergency slots are pretty useless with the endless waiting times. How can a practice like this neglect people in who work within the daytime and require care and advice too? There is no infrastructure organised for us and it is a very deep concern as I have been trying to book an appointment for 3 weeks now and I have not had any luck.
In addition to this, my mother had called the practice herself and arranged for a telephone consultation for myself as no appointments could be arranged and the symptoms are quite concerning. However, I had received no call from the GP and to rub more salt into the wounds, I spent 30 minutes filling out the online form which offers you advice as such on your symptoms or again a call to discuss the issue. Funnily enough, I received a voicemail stating that my symptoms would need to be examined in person and I should call to arrange an appointment.
This is disgusting, neglectful and extremely concerning. A GP service like this is better off closed down as they disregard many people, especially those who cannot make it due to working commitments due to their extremely limited and narrow time slot. There is no provision set up to look after us and generally the practice has not got admin staff who have an ounce of decency in their mannerisms with their speech. They are extremely rude and hostile and do not help people whatsoever.
Something needs to be done about this practice and its standards need to improve drastically, they need to provide more support and provision for people who cannot attend day time appointments, but rather need an evening slot and they also need to bring in new doctors to tend to the many patients that require their service. People's health is not a joke, so action needs to be taken and it needs to produce results fast."
