"over the last few years the service received from the staff here has gradually decreased to now dreading having to sort doctors appointments out. suffering from mental health issues it is difficult for me to do basic things without my medications, however I had to phone up twice a day every day for a week and after finally getting through was told no appointments call tomorrow but try earlier in the day, for the afternoon ones you can't book until 2pm and when i started ringing at then and don't get through to someone until 3pm after calling 72 times being told to call earlier was a bit much. If you ever need to see a doctor about mental health my doctor was brilliant he would always listen to any concerns no matter how silly it might seem to other, one of the best doctors at this surgery. Now i know its not the surgery's fault for being busy as there are too many patients for the number of doctors. However does not help if Doctors want to speak to discuss results for them to read them the first time when your sat waiting in front of them. Nurse saying remarks about my weight in rude way yes might be true but more tactful and supportive ways of approaching the topic.
Certain people at this surgery are fantastic and if it was just people like them here it would easily be a 5 star practice but it is unfortunately being brought down by others ."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
