"I have to agree with the majority of the comments on here. While the GPs & medical staff are mostly brilliant, getting to see them is a tortuous and off putting process. so much so that I put off trying to make an appointment as it is just too tiring and frustrating. You can only ring for the same day, you cannot book in advance unless a GP signs something to give you permission, ring from 8am, on hold 40 minutes when I'm supposed to be working, but I have no potion but to hang on the phone. Then I'm asked to describe my reasons for wanting to see a GP to the receptionist, regardless of the fact I'm in an open plan office and it could be very personal and private. And when you get an appointment - because you can't plan and take what you can get - you have to just walk out of work, which obviously is not conducive to good relations with the boss. I've tried the online system but there are never any sessions available to book. Surely there must be a better way? Surely the receptionist must dreads the 8'o'clock morning rush? NHS encourage to speak to our GPs if we have any health concerns, as a patient with ongoing mental health issues, it is ironic that I get so stressed trying to make an appointment that fits in with my working life. Sorry to remain anonymous, however I fear reprisal."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
