"- Incorrect diagnosis (around Oct 2017): I booked a GP-appointment for my 4-yr old son's ear-ache. We were seen by a nurse practitioner, who assured me it was 'just ear wax'. I asked her to re-check, because I suspected a foreign object. She rechecked, but again assured me it was just earwax and recommended olive oil. When on holiday in Belgium 2 weeks later, we saw a proper doctor, who removed a rock from his ear (which at the time had gotten infected).
- Nurse Practitioner sending me to A&E unnecessarily (Oct 2018): I have a mallet finger injury and knew I just needed to see a GP who could refer me to an orthopedic specialist. Since the receptionist insisted that the nurse practitioner could do this type of referral, I trusted her recommendation. When I saw the nurse a week later, she sent me to A&E, where there was a 5h wait time. In the end, I saw an orthopedic specialist, who confirmed my diagnosis of mallet injury.
- Nurse Practitioner acting unprofessional :
- She didn't wash her hands between handling my husband's urine sample and handling his blood sample (Nov 2018). She took blood, which left a 8 sq inch blue spot
- Same nurse took my blood (summer 2017), also leaving a giant blue spot
- Staff treating us in a very patronizing way (June 2018): my husband wanted a 'soft fibroma' removed, but although he specifically requested an appointment with a GP who could do the removal immediately, he got a nurse practioner first. He explained his situation, after which the nurse asked him "Who made the diagnosis of the soft fibroma? - He responded: I googled it - She said: Well, the correct name is a skin tag.. SKIN TAG". 2 months later, he got to see a GP who removed the fibroma.
- Trying to make appointments with GP, but receptionist arbitrarily making appointment with nurse practitioners instead (e.g., June 2018, Oct 2018, Oct 2017)
- I walked in with my 3-year old son bleeding at his head (8.10am, Oct 2016). Even though appointments had just been 'released', nobody wanted to see us and receptionist referred us to A&E. I just wanted to get a medical opinion whether or not he needed stitches."
