"Having fairly recently transferred from another surgery (not my fault/choice) i was quite concerned about the treatment i would receive. As with all things like this you need to find out who you can relate to the best to discuss your needs. It took me my third attempt but everything was good from there. I have had to change to another doctor as mine left the practice but the reception team were fantastic in recommending who to see next regarding my illness. I cannot thank them enough as it was a very stressful time for me and they made it as easy as possible. I have always managed to speak to reception on the phone but do appreciate that it's difficult to get an appointment when you want one. That is something i feel cannot be helped as they have such a large number of patients and although thankfully i have not needed to i am sure they would be helpful if a situation arose. I fing the online booking system most helpful for appointments as i can plan in advance and always find a date close to what i would like. In all i am very happy with the service i receive."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
