"This is a review of a particular incident.On 14th November my husband contacted the surgery as he was experiencing severe neck pain _he had experienced this in November 2017 and this had been the onset of discitis with which he was hospitalised. He was given.an appointment for 16th November bloods were taken and he was referred for an x ray on 20th November. On 19th November he received a telephone call asking him to go for a further blood test on 20th November. On.20th November at 6.30 pm.he received a phone call from a particular GP at the practise advising him to call at the practise pick up a letter and go straight to a and e .At a and e my husband was seen promptly and the thoroughness of the referral from the practise was commented on.
My husband was subsequently transferred to Salford royal hospital as he was suffering from severe sepsis duÃ¨ to two spinal infections. My husband was in hospital for 12 weeks and 4 days and I was told that the prompt action of the GP probably saved his life"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
