"I have been registered with this surgery for over 50 years and my wife has been with them for almost as long. I regret to say that since taking over the practice in Highlands Boulevard with the additional patients, the administration has become a complete shambles. I should say immediately that we are and have always been more than satisfied with the level of care and service delivered by the core Doctors and Nurses. Sadly, the current reception and administration staff are, however, an entirely different matter. I am not usually moved to submit reviews, particularly poor ones, but recent events have tried our patience beyond breaking point. To begin with, I have lost count of the number of times they have completely messed up our repeat prescriptions despite my wife attaching notes to underline our requirements. We have complained about this on several occasions to the receptionists and the practise manager but despite assurances that it would be sorted out the same problem still re occurs. We tried to register for online services in the hope that this might resolve matters only to find that this also turned into a fiasco. Despite the contents of the explanatory booklet and after spending considerable time on line and dropping into the surgery we were eventually told that it was not possible to register two people under the same email address and therefore the service was no good to us. It wouldn't be quite so bad if the surgery could be contacted by telephone but this in itself is a trial. Although this may be a system fault or lack of staff, it always takes ages to get through and we frequently lose the will to live waiting for the phone to be answered!! In recent years appointments have become problematic and from having to wait weeks, we discovered today, whilst in reception, that in future, appointments can only be made on the day (assuming you are lucky enough to get through) and it will not be possible to see a specific doctor. So much for continuity. I could go on but as a final example, my wife yesterday attended the surgery to deliver a urine sample which she duly transferred to the appropriate bottle when she got there. The receptionist offered to label the bottle and complete all the forms which she did, advising that the result would be available on Friday. This was important to my wife as we are due to go on holiday in the next couple of weeks. Today we received a phone call from the surgery who advised that the sample had not been accepted as "my wife" had labelled it wrongly. She would have to go through the process again. As noted above, the labelling etc was actually completed by the surgery not by my wife. In any event, this means that yet again, we shall have to drive up to the surgery to sort out their error. The only upside is that whereas my wife was originally told that the result of the test would take 5 days the receptionist who rang today said that it would be 2 days. More confusion and mistakes easily avoidable."
