"There is no consistency of staff and so every time you need to see a doctor you have to see somebody different and then go through the whole of your medical history each time.
It's virtually impossible to get an appointment for less than a fortnight ahead and if you're a man wanting to see a male doctor at Orford you're chances are reduced even further because of the 4 doctors employed only one is male, in fact to my knowledge he is the only male medical staff member, there no male nurses or HCA's.
The Orford practice is only open part time further reducing your chances of getting medical care locally. There is, of course, the opportunity to travel a 25 mile round trip to Alderton if you're not unwell and cope with the journey.
I feel as if I've been palmed off with the doctors giving me "lip service" to my condition and not taking me seriously enough to investigate further.
A couple of years ago i told one doctor that I was suicidal because of the chronic pain I was constantly in. He said "Oh dear. Fill in this form and return it to reception." Which I duly did but no further action was taken.
I still feel as though I can't go on like this but don't have the confidence in the practice to ask them for help. Maybe suicide is the answer, at least the doctors would then have one less ill person to have to deal with."
