"The main issue with this surgery is the incredibly frustrating process of getting an appointment. Any appointment. Quite often the phone line is busy and you are not even put in a queue. Should you be fortunate enough to have the time to continue to ring back and get in the queue, and when your call is finally answered, you are often informed that there are no more appointments and that you should have rung earlier!!! Oh, the irony of it! If you ask for an appointment for the following day, you are informed that you will have to ring back tomorrow. Cue Groundhog Day: you have the privilege of repeating the whole process again.
In the surgery itself, the staff on reception are friendly with the exception of one lady who lacks any form of empathy whatsoever. Unfortunately, her attitude gives a poor impression of the reception and she can only be considered to be a disappointment to her colleagues.
If you are fortunate and manage to get an appointment before you end up in A&E, the Doctors you get to speak to can be very friendly and competent. Unfortunately, the absolutely fantastic nurse who was the diamond of the surgery has now left, which has left a large hole for the surgery to fill.
All in all, the surgery is let down by the appointment system and one rotten apple in reception. Such a shame. If it were possible to make appointments for at least the following day, it may help people to get treated for things that need medical intervention but don't need immediate action. Unfortunately, though, this is not possible.
This sums up the state of the surgery for all times of the year, as both my wife and I have experienced these problems almost every time we have tried to make an appointment. The statement form reception that the line is no longer "busy" but that you get put in a queue straight away is unfortunately not true."
