"I have a permanent downhill struggle with heart issues.(heart and kidney failure)...I have nothing but praise for the doctors at this surgery....They have always come to my home when essential or given advice over phone if necessary and generally nothing is too much trouble for this surgery from the front desk to the doctors at the top. For example in November having had 2 weeks of treatment and testing in the MUDAS unit a doctor from Riverside took the time to come to my home to explain I have heart and kidney failure and carefully but directly gave me the full picture that my health would not return to good health, but steadily downwards....this is the worst news anyone can receive, but the way she explained it I felt no panic, just a sense that I was in good hands with Riverside...when I thanked her...she told me she had been doing this job for 35 years...(it cannot be easy for these are sensitive people who really do their best for their patients......it is time everyone gave them the respect they deserve...."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
