"I had been uncomfortable all day due to sitting awkwardly at the theatre the night before.(Thornton Theatre you need to do something about your new chairs - they are not fit for the purpose !!) I put it down to muscle strain as I was at a very odd angle and thought it would ease after a day - however I was actually in tears by the following night and couldn't put any weight on my leg so was starting to think maybe it was a trapped nerve as the pain was excrutiating. I couldn't walk - dress - use bathroom - all really frustrating. Realising that the night was going to be a very unpleasant one without some sort of pain relief my OH took me to the walk in centre at 6.30pm. Just getting there was awful and I felt ridiculous having to stand and lean over a chair as there was no way I was going to get down again having taken 15 mins to get out of the car. The relief I felt hobbling in there and knowing someone was going to help me was tremendous and I cant thank the nurse who saw me enough for her understanding. As I rarely take painkillers the ones prescribed worked immediately and Im now writing this two days later in much less pain thanks to the advice received. If Victoria Hospital had been my only option I wouldn't have gone and would have prolonged the pain until I was able to ge a GP appointment so for me this place was a lifeline. Thank you to everyone and I hope not to see you again for a long time!!"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?
