"Was a patient here recently, rang reception in the morning as I had a bad case of tonsillitis which I when left untreated turned to quinsy, which has made me to struggle to breathe. I told receptionist I had previously been hospitalised due to this problem. I was struggling to talk, eat, swallow and the pain was bad. Receptionist told me that they could not offer appointments for sore throats. As you can imagine I was not happy. Was told to see a pharmacist. Managed to get an appointment after ringing three times and speaking to another receptionist. I never ask for an urgent appointment unless necessary and I will always speak to pharmacy first for the problems I have. It clearly states on the NHS site that if you have white pus on your tonsils, then you should see a gp. If you are having problems swallowing, eating etc then go to A+E as this could be an abscess (Quinsy). The receptionist should have gave me an appointment for this, I did not want to have to go to A&E and waste their time when they are under so much pressure as it is, when a GP can quickly have a look down my throat to see what the issue was. A receptionist has sat through a few hours of training, a doctor years of training with a license to practice medicine. Me and my daughters aged 1 and 3, were later all diagnosed with tonsillitis and given antibiotics which helped and it started clearing up after 24 hours of taking. Pretty disgusted by the service, I also handed a letter to the reception FAO the manager and I have still not had a response. Changed my GP to Greenway Community Centre after people advising me to as they have had problems too here. Rang Greenway yesterday, offered an appointment this Wednesday with my doctor. I recommend if to change to Greenway if you are not happy here."
