"I have type II diabetes, which requires 6-monthly reviews which used to happen until the doctor I saw partially retired. I have seen another doctor over a year ago, but no-one since. Trying to arrange an appointment via the telephone is almost impossible...for either someone to answer the telephone..or for a helpful response when someone does answer. I understand that the practice is busy but the receptionists (most of them anyway) are surly, sharp, and offhand....this comment is based on all of the contacts I have had with them over the years...they get worse, not better.

The website says that regular six-monthly reviews can be booked in advance. The receptionists say that they can't.

I have huge experience of working within a stressed NHS environment and understand the pressures involved...but the patient is a person and should be treated with dignity...this practice does not do that.

If you complain politely their response is to suggest that they are being abused!! Really."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
