"Registering with this surgery is a bit of a farce. You fill a load of forms in online, then have to come in and get a load of documents photocopied, and when you do they say you have to fill in a load of other forms which look a lot like the ones you filled in online, then they lose all that documentation and email you to say you need to come in and get your documents scanned again to make an appointment.

At my previous surgery I downloaded a form, filled it in, and went in once to register - took 2 minutes. I don't know why here they have this ridiculous system which is half online forms, half paper forms and then insist on a load of proof of ID that they then promptly lose.

Once you do jump through the hoops to get registered, their appointment system works quite well and the doctor I saw was fine. Rushed and a bit rude, but that seems to be the model for NHS doctors now, presumably because they're so over worked. Sad though. I remember when going to a GP wasn't like going to a MacDonalds drive through on a Saturday night."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
