"As the title suggests, the future of reducing paper and going electronically is supposed to make things easier for staff, patients and carers. As a carer I find I am using more petrol than ever driving back and forth to sort out missed or forgotten prescriptions at the chemists and doctors! When I order online using your state-of-the-art electronic ordering system it would be nice if you could process them correctly (guaranteed each month something goes wrong!) This month, things were sent electronically in dribs and drabs and despite ordering early for the Christmas holidays in the hope it would take the stress off a carer who is already struggling, it goes wrong again. And when I do phone up no-one knows where one item is, itâs not arrived at the chemist, but says processed some 8 days ago on your system â perhaps itâs floating in cyber space somewhere! I am promised a call back when I enquire because the lady, I am speaking to canât explain what has gone wrong. The call back does not happen, so I chase it again only to be told it has been sent now electronically, but zero explanation as to why it went wrong again or an apology for the inconvenience. In the last 12 months for at least 9 months I have experienced issues with ordering repeat prescriptions online. Iâve had unsigned prescriptions left on desks for days, electronic requests not sent electronically, request to collect at Southbrook not done and the prescription is waiting at Garnet Fold. I wonder if we will see any improvements in 2019!"
