"This surgery has been a nuisance for me since I joined it. I am leaving this review having just come off the phone and realising that my prescription exemption renewal form has been lost somewhere. Of course the answer is that I better inconvenience myself (bearing in mind I work between two locations and the opening hours aren't preferable for anyone who works full time) and fill in another form for the doctor to sign and hope the "Royal Mail" doesn't lose this one.

This issue aside, in terms of issuing prescriptions (not telling me I need a test then withholding my prescriptions or not issuing some of them at all), condescending doctors (I have multiple chronic health issues and since joining this practise have decided that I will just take my prescriptions and not bother talking to doctors as it doesn't get me anywhere and wastes my time), an inability to get an appointment at any convenient time and an inability to get through on the phone - what's the point?

I'll be leaving the practise as soon as I get my medical exemption certificate."

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
