"I live about a ten minute walk away from THE DOCS. It is a very busy city centre practice. In spite of this, with some organisation and persistence, I can usually get through and make an appointment.
I have lived in the area nearly five years now and so my views are not a "snapshot" of a short time of being here. I would say I need the GP 3/4 times a year at most, sometimes less. The practice recently helped with accessing the "Patient Access" scheme, which helps you book appointments online, but also helps you keep track of medical tests and info, reports etc. I find this exceptionally useful.
However, what motivated me most to leave this review was the way I have been cared for these past few weeks. In late November I sustained what appears to be a herniated disc and after Christmas my condition deteriorated rapidly. The Dr has been able to see me twice, but also make himself available for two further telephone discussions when my pain levels became very severe. He has prescribed effective painkillers promptly and also managed to get a MRI scan at a Manchester hospital within a week thus saving me from having to go private.
I can't think of anything in levels of service that could have been improved. A huge THANK YOU to him and all the team at 55 Bloom Street!"
