"I have been a patient of the Hollies now for roughly 4/5 months. When you are able to see the doctors they are good however if you call for an appointment even one for in the future you have to have a doctor phone you so you can tell them your problem so they can determine whether you are worthy of seeing them. The icing on the cake now is they have changed that so now you have to do webchat (like facebook messenger) type your problem and then get a call back despite asking for a message back from a doctor telling you whether you are worthy to see them or not.This is great for things like colds ect however when calling regarding a physical issue which was very sensitive and needed a human interaction to diagnose me over phone and internet is totally wrong , I had to be on the phone in tears to even get the receptionist to consider getting a doctor to call me after I had done the whole web chat and phone process even then she would not give me an appointment at first she left me waiting for several hours. I am now leaving this practice but I personally would not recommend to anyone who wants to see an actual doctor."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
