"I have been a patient at this surgery for many many years. No matter which GP I have seen,I can honestly say that I have always come away feeling reassured that my needs have been taken seriously and I have received a professional service.
Unlike other surgeries, this practice has always been able to retain its doctors,nurses and other support staff which says a lot about the nature of this team. I have never felt that I needed to make an appointment with a specific GP as they are all equally competent and caring. The same can be said about the nursing team.
I work for the NHS and sometimes (sadly) hear stories of GP's simply not being up to the mark. When I come across patients who are being treated at Vista Road, I have never heard anything negative being said about this surgery other than the appointments system which seams to be a problem in many surgeries these days.
The surgery used to have evening appointments which has stopped some time ago. This was ideal for people working during the day. Hopefully this is something the surgery may offer again in the future.
All in all this is a 1st class service and I am thankful to have this surgery in our town."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
