"My son is 17 and Autistic. There have been several occasions when he has needed to see a Dr and everyone has always been fantastic from the receptionist, the Dr who called back and the Dr who saw James. Everyone has always listened to us both and we have all worked together to solve any issues. I recently had to call to arrange for an appointment to see a Dr for James as he was very anxious and not coping at school- his SEN college had advised we saw a GP asap. We were given an appointment with Godson for that day. What a brilliant service- and just the right support that James, myself and his school required. I believe Weavers are the only GP practice offering this service at the moment ! I have called this morning for a follow up appointment with a doctor as he suggested and spoke to a lovely receptionist who understood my request for an appointment after school and was really helpful. I totally understand the type of pressures facing your service as I work in the local A&E dept . Weavers is a brilliant GP surgery with kind and helpful staff who care and I am very pleased myself and my family are registered here."

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
