Second vaccine

This was my second vaccination at this site. The infrastructure was completely different to the first visit, but was easy to follow. Previous visit information was readily available. The whole process was smooth, efficient and pleasant. Staff were helpful, jolly and committed to their tasks.

Civid vaccine at Southsea Medical Centre

Myself and my wife had the AZ vaccine at the Southsea Medical Centre and we thought it was very well organised and we were in and out in ten minutes. I had overnight shivers with my first jab but nothing with my second one. My wife had no side effects at all with both jabs.

Good experience

The first jab was given in the evening and the clinic was very busy. Everyone was cheerful and conscientious about cleaning chairs etc. The second jab was a morning visit, we went straight in and if we hadn't had to wait because of my husband driving yes there, would have been out in less than 5 minutes. Again, very well done.

Quick and painless

The whole process was faultless from beginning to a very speedy end. Loads of volunteers on hand to guide you through the centre and clean everything at all times. And the injection was so quick and painless it wasn't even noticed.

Great way to have your jabs!

Organisation brilliant right from the start. On arrival bags of advice and help available as where to park and where to go. Everyone was polite and friendly both inside the centre and out. Injections administered swiftly and painlessly with plenty of friendly banter to relieve any tension. Enjoyed myself so much I went back a few weeks later for seconds. Different faces but same impeccable treatment. Organisers and staff are to be congratulated!

Recent Experience

It was pretty smooth. Volunteer stewards were doing a great job but I'm not sure that they always observed social distancing as well as they could have done. The weather was very cold on both occasions and with windows and doors open for ventilation and the waiting area afterwards on the second occasion being in a marquee it was pretty chilly. However all in all a very smooth operation and I was very grateful to get the vaccination.

Covid jab

Southsea Medical Centre, on arrival my temperature was taken and told to take a seat and once a space became available I was moved onto the next seat, one of the assistants asked me several questions and shown to the room for my injection. My experience was a well organised visit everyone was very friendly and professional.

Overall experience

For both jabs I had to ask for my wife to be included with me and each time they agreed. My wife is older than me and a patient at East Shore but they had omitted her both times. But the rest of the administation was very good.

Well done Southsea Medical Practice

The NHS organisation, distribution and administration of the vaccine programme has been awe inspiring. Everyone, including all of the volunteers were so well organised and professional. Even the most nervous of patients must have felt reassured at the kindness and efficiency shown by everyone. I am grateful that I don’t live in a third world country anymore.

From the very first contact with the volunteer 'ushers' right through to the jolly people manning the tent afterwards the whole process was friendly, unintimidating and efficient throughout a great professional job done by all! The whole process was explained to us 9me and my wife) and it was nice that the staff although under pressure seemed to have time for each individual.

My Jab opinion

I was thrilled to be an early receiver of the Pfizer vacine and to have the second at 10 weeks. Whoever the person was who pulled the group practices together and organised the Southsea Medical Centre Jab centre I have tremendous regard for. Thank you and congratulations. The only thing I did not like was the black tent to sit in after the second jab. It was a small pokey room where virus could accumulate and it was dark inside. I refused to go in and waited outside until I happily cycled home. The excitement when I received the first phone call was staggering. I had to concentrate really hard to cycle safely along Goldsmith Avenue. The staff at every level were wonderful and obviously pleased with their progress. My thanks again to all involved.

My husband and I were given the Pfizer vaccine at the very beginning of the program, he is vulnerable so we were very grateful to have early protection and I was pleased to be done at the same time. Covid-19 vax at Southsea Medical Centre

I found the centre to be fairly well organised for the first jab, and was through the system in about 5 or 10 minutes, given that everyone - staff and volunteers - were setting up the massive logistical operation over a very short time period. The second jab was even more efficient, only waited about two minutes, jab given, and out to the waiting area very quickly. The staff, both medical and the volunteers, were pleasant and helpful. It all went very smoothly, despite the pressures on them to get this huge task done. Very impressed.

Second AstraZeneca injection

With my second AstraZeneca injection after 4 days I awoke with a violent migraine-type headache which resulted in me having to remain in bed all day. Co-Codamol had no effect. The following day the headache was gone and I felt mildly Flu-ish.

Quick and easy process

I was very embarrassed by the car park warden who just singled me and asked me to look for parking elsewhere even though there was two cars by the venue which remained liked that until i finished my recovery time to go home I thought maybe it was because of who I am

I had to organise my own vaccine as contacted surgery by letter firstly, no reply or contact received, I then rang to see if my letter was received & was asked to call back a week later as I’d been coded to book an appointment, I did as asked and was met with a really curt response & subsequently booked on outside website. I work in a dentist & was the last member of staff to be vaccinated, all my colleagues were contacted & invited for their jabs before me by their doctors.

Not sure what phone call you were expecting from the vaccination hub so difficult to comment about your experience.

Not happy with Second Vaccination

When I had my first vaccination I did not feel a thing and got to rest for 15 minutes afterwards. When I was about to get my second vaccination, a member of staff came in and asked the vaccinator to hurry up. The vaccinator stood up and literally stabbed me in my shoulder and it started to bleed. They tried to stop the bleed and said that shouldn't have happened and a plaster was pressed on to the vaccination. I was ushered out the back door with no chance to rest 15minutes like first vaccination. I stood outside until I stopped feeling dizzy. I was left with a square imprint on my shoulder from the pressure of the pad of the plaster and fanning out from it a 2inch diameter bleed bruise on my shoulder. It was over a week before the bruise started to begin to heal and gradually turn yellow. I still have a square mark left on my shoulder seven weeks later.

Two vaccines

I heard on the radio this week that by dialling 119 one can request a physical certificate verifying that one has received 2 vaccinations for covid 19 and are therefore fully protected for purposes of international travel and hospitality. Can you confirm this or can you facilitate this in any case? With regard to the East Shore Partnership I am very satisfied with their efficiency and hope that regular patient consultation can resume soon.
