ABOUT LOCAL GP - GREYFRIARS HEALTH CENTRE

The Walk-in Centre at Greyfriars Health Centre is a convenient GP-led health service, available to the local community of Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas, where you can be seen without an appointment.

The Centre's services are available to everyone between 0800 - 2000, seven days a week, all year round, including all public holidays.

The Walk-in facility at Greyfriars is not designed for the treatment of long-term conditions or immediately life-threatening problems. However, Greyfriars does provide a full range of standard General Practitioner services to patients who are registered at the Centre.

The number of patients choosing to register at Greyfriars continues to grow, and we are still accepting new patients. Our practice is unique to the local area as it is the only practice that offers patients access to a doctor at their own practice every day of the year!

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

General Practitioner

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Mr Phil Monnery

Qualifications - FRCS 1999, FRCSI 1995, MBBS, 1991, MRCGP 2012

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

GMC Number - 6160583

General Practitioner

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
