"I had a persistent cough and sore throat which had persisted for over a month leading to chest pains due to constant clearing of my throat. I phoned for an appointment in the morning and was seen that morning. The doctor gave me a thorough inspection and a prescription for antibiotics. He told me to book an appointment for two weeks time but if i was feeling better to cancel the appointment. Two weeks later I wasn't any better and kept my appointment. I seen a different doctor who also examined me and then referred me for an urgent appointment at Ashford hospital. The very next day I got a phone call from Ashford hospital and was given an appointment date four days later. The reason I am writing is to thank all concerned in my treatment, I could not believe the speed in which it all happened. These decisions can be the difference between life and death and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after me in a professional and courteous manner."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
