I have found admin staff to be really helpful and they do go out of their way but the medical services are not good. This is made worse by the fact there is no consistency in medics and so medical advice. Each medic contradicts the last piece of advice given.
One of the medics needs to work on his relationship with patients. i also work in the NHS and unfortunately, found him to be very rude and unprofessional. Basic manners such as looking at the patient and listening and respecting their needs and opinions - totally absent with him. My questions were largely dismissed whilst he completed his paperwork. Poor standard of behaviour.
The surgery has the potential to be good because basic admin team are excellent and one of the main GPs is very good and has excellent patient communication skills but appointments with her are not always available for weeks on end. Sadly this leaves patients with little choice in who they get and so the way in which said medics operate. This means that actual medical care is poor and patients do not feel contained.
I hope GPs will reflect on how they engage with their patients. Being a good GP is more than just writing prescriptions."
